On the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the National Defense Militia Traditional Day (March 28, 1930 - March 28, 2025), General Phan Van Giang - Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Minister of National Defense - sent a congratulatory letter to all officers and soldiers who have been working in the National Defense Militia Forces nationwide.
General Phan Van Giang's letter clearly stated:
After 90 years of building, fighting and growing, under the leadership, direction, organization, education and training of the great Party and President Ho Chi Minh, the dominance of the President, the management and operation of the Government, the leadership and direction of the Party Committee, local governments at all levels, the unified command of the Minister of National Defense and the direct direction and command of local military agencies; generations of the Militia and Self-Defense Forces have promoted the tradition of patriotism, revolutionary heroism, absolute loyalty to the Fatherland, to the People, to the glorious revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation, overcoming all difficulties and hardships, excellently completing the tasks of both labor and production, intelligence, bravery, steadfastness in fighting, serving, serving, protecting and firmly;
Closely coordinate with the standing forces, People's Public Security and other forces to participate in building localities, developing units, being rich in economy, strong in politics, national defense and security, taking the lead in preventing, combating and overcoming the consequences of natural disasters, epidemics, incidents and search and rescue; actively contributing to the cause of national liberation, building and firmly defending the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, and being awarded many noble awards by the Party and State.
General Phan Van Giang commended and praised the achievements and progress and maturity of the Militia and Self-Defense Forces over the past 90 years.
General Phan Van Giang expressed his hope that in the new revolutionary period, the Militia and Self-Defense Forces will continue to promote the achievements and glorious traditions of the heroic Vietnam People's Army;
Promote the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style, excellently complete all assigned tasks; contribute to building rich and developing agencies, units and localities, together with the entire Party, people and army to successfully implement the Resolution of the 13th National Congress of the Party, building a prosperous and happy country.
