On the afternoon of July 10, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) held a draw ceremony for the group stage final round of the National U17 Championship - Red Dragon Cup 2026.
Speaking at the ceremony, VFF General Secretary Nguyen Van Phu said: "Youth football is always the foundation in the sustainable development strategy of Vietnamese football. Sponsors accompanying the final round not only contributes to improving the quality of tournament organization but also adds motivation for young players on their development journey.
VFF believes that the tournament will continue to be a quality playground, discovering and nurturing talents, contributing resources to national teams in the future.
According to the draw results, the defending champion U17 Hanoi is in Group C with U17 Hue, U17 Dong Thap and U17 Lam Dong. This is considered a fairly balanced group, creating conditions for the Capital team to aim for the goal of defending the title.
In Group A, U17 Hoang Anh Gia Lai will compete with U17 The Cong Viettel 1, U17 Da Nang and U17 PVF. Meanwhile, Group B gathers U17 Song Lam Nghe An, U17 Ho Chi Minh City, U17 PVF-CAND and U17 Dong Nai.
The 2026 National U17 Championship finals will take place from July 16 to 29 at Pleiku Stadium and Ham Rong Sports Center (Gia Lai), with the participation of 12 of the best teams in the country.
This continues to be an important tournament for clubs to verify the quality of youth training and select factors for national teams in the future.
