On July 10, in an exchange with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, a representative of the leadership of Sam Son Ward People's Committee, Thanh Hoa province, said that the incident of wastewater overflowing into the beach has been overcome by functional forces.

According to local representatives, the collection pit in the incident area is a project built after the Sam Son sea square project, with the main purpose of draining rainwater. For wastewater, this area has a collection and pumping system to Hong Le pumping station, then transferred to the wastewater treatment area.
However, currently, the wastewater collection system has not been fully invested. In the coming time, the locality will conduct inspections to clarify whether or not organizations and individuals illegally connect wastewater pipes to the rainwater drainage system.
Next week, the ward will also dig the foundation to check whether or not there is illegal discharge of wastewater into the rainwater collection ditch. If violations are detected, the locality will handle them strictly" - a representative of Sam Son Ward People's Committee informed.
Also according to this representative, Sam Son ward has implemented a project to upgrade sewer gates, collection pits and replace the valve system to ensure aesthetics and improve the efficiency of wastewater control. When the water level rises, the valve system will automatically close, preventing it from overflowing into the sea. The project has a total cost of about 18 billion VND, from local capital.

As Lao Dong Newspaper reported, on July 9, a clip appeared on social networks recording the scene of black water flowing rushing out to Sam Son beach. Witnessing this scene, many tourists expressed concern when coming here to relax and swim.
According to a representative of Sam Son Ward People's Committee, the incident happened on the afternoon of July 8, in the sewer area near Sam Son sea square.
Explaining the reason, local representatives said that on the afternoon of July 8, there was a very heavy rain in the area. The pumping system did not have time to drain the water flowing in, causing water to overflow into the sea. After the incident occurred, the locality mobilized machinery and manpower to fix it.
Records of Lao Dong Newspaper reporters show that by the morning of July 9, functional forces continued to mobilize 2 excavators and manpower to the scene, carrying out filling and leveling the sewer area, preventing water from continuing to flow to the beach.
It is known that this is not the first time the sluice area has experienced black water overflowing into the beach. In previous years, a similar situation has also appeared. Local authorities have proposed remedial solutions, however, the matter has not been resolved definitively until now.
