On the evening of December 6, in the capital Vientiane (Laos), the Vietnamese team elected its executive committee ahead of the 2024 AFF Cup.
Defender Do Duy Manh was trusted by coach Kim Sang-sik to be given the captain's armband. Alongside him are two vice-captains - striker Nguyen Tien Linh and midfielder Nguyen Quang Hai.
Do Duy Manh is one of the experienced players of the "Golden Star Warriors". At the AFF Cup 2024, the Hanoi FC player is considered an important stopper of the Vietnamese team's defense. Coach Kim Sang-sik needs the experience of this defender in building tactics for the Vietnamese team towards the Southeast Asian playground.
Along with Tien Linh and Quang Hai, Duy Manh will be the factor connecting the players, aiming to reach the final of this year's tournament.
As soon as they arrived in Laos at noon on December 6, the Vietnamese team settled down and started their first training session, preparing for the opening match of Group B of the AFF Cup 2024 against Laos.
According to the organizing committee's regulations, the Vietnamese team will only be allowed to practice on the field at the Laos National Stadium one day before the match, on December 8. Therefore, the training sessions on December 6 and 7 of coach Kim Sang-sik and his team will all take place at the Lao Football Federation's training ground.
In this training session, 3 players from Nam Dinh club including Nguyen Van Toan, Nguyen Van Vi and Nguyen Xuan Son, although newly joined the team, showed their ability to quickly catch up with their teammates.
Besides, the team also received good news when striker Pham Tuan Hai has completely recovered from injury and actively participated in training activities with the whole team.
