Hanoi FC announces foreign players worth over 1 million USD

Hanoi Club has officially completed a valuable contract with Brazilian foreign player - Willian Maranhao.

On the afternoon of August 11, the Hanoi club's homepage officially announced the recruitment of defensive midfielder Willian Maranhao to compete in V.League 2025-2026. This will be a quality addition to the Hang Day home team, in the context that this position has always been a concern in many recent seasons.

According to Transfermarkt, the Brazilian foreign player is valued at more than 1 million USD (900,000 euros). This number helps Willian Maranhao become the second most valuable player in V.League 2025-2026, after Nam Dinh's rookie Njabulo Blom ( Valued at 950,000 euros).

Sharing after joining Hanoi club, Willian Maranhao said: "I am very concerned because this is the first time I have played outside of Brazil, but the club's strategy and orientation have really convinced me. I came here to aim for the championship title and further, to compete with the team in the AFC Champions League or the Southeast Asian Cup C1".

The midfielder born in 1995 grew up in the training center of Boavista SC and has been playing professionally for more than 11 years. After 5 seasons playing in the Brazilian national championship - Serie A, Willian Maranhao has played for many clubs such as Vasco da Gama, Santos, Atletico Goianiense.

Most likely, the Brazilian foreign player will make his V.League debut in the away match at Thong Nhat Stadium of Ho Chi Minh City Police on August 16. He promises to bring a new breeze to Hanoi FC's ambitions in the 2025-2026 season.
