On the afternoon of December 12, it was reported that ticket brokers appeared in front of the gate of Viet Tri Stadium (Phu Tho) to sell tickets for two matches between the Vietnamese team and Indonesia and Myanmar in the group stage of the ASEAN Cup (formerly known as AFF Cup) 2024.
Accordingly, tickets priced at 200,000 VND/ticket are "priced" at 800,000 - 1,000,000 VND/ticket; tickets priced at 300,000 VND/ticket are pushed up to 1,000,000 - 1,200,000 VND/ticket... In general, "black market" ticket prices are 4-5 times higher than the original ticket prices.
Previously, at 8:00 a.m. the same day, the local organizing committee of Phu Tho province coordinated with the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) to open direct ticket sales for the matches of the Vietnam team in the group stage, with 3,000 tickets per match to serve local audiences as well as elderly fans - those who cannot buy tickets online.
By 9am, the 300,000 VND and 200,000 VND tickets had been sold out, leaving only 100,000 VND tickets. Therefore, many spectators, if they could not buy tickets from the organizers, were forced to consult the "black market" ticket prices.
According to the schedule, Vietnam will face Indonesia on December 15 and Myanmar on December 21 at Viet Tri Stadium. Coach Kim Sang-sik and his team will also have a trip to the Philippines on December 18.
