Today (December 9), coach Park Hang-seo was on a flight to Laos to cheer for the Vietnamese team in the opening match of the 2024 AFF Cup against Laos.
Although he no longer directly leads the "Golden Star Warriors", the Korean coach still pays special attention to the Vietnamese team as well as his former students.
In the past, in 4 out of the last 5 AFF Cups, the Vietnamese team was in the same group as Laos. Under coach Park Hang-seo, he and his students met Laos away in the opening match of the AFF Cups in 2018, 2021 and 2022.
"The Golden Star Warriors" have had good results when they won 3-0 (in 2018), 2-0 (in 2021) and 3-0 (in 2022) respectively.
Fans expect that Coach Kim Sang-sik, Park Hang-seo's compatriot, will continue to achieve success, helping the Vietnamese team win in the upcoming opening match.
The match between Vietnam and Laos will take place at 8:00 p.m. today (December 9) at the Laos National Stadium. In terms of personnel, performance and head-to-head record, the Vietnam team is considered to be much better than the home team.
If they get 3 points on the opening day, it will help coach Kim Sang-sik and his team have a good mentality when entering the journey at AFF Cup 2024.
