After a training trip in Korea, the Vietnamese team has moved to the capital Vientiane (Laos) to prepare for the opening match against the host team on December 9.
After that, coach Kim Sang-sik and his team will return to their home stadium Viet Tri (Phu Tho) to welcome the Indonesian team on December 15. This is considered a key match for the Vietnamese team.
On December 18, Quang Hai and his teammates will continue to visit the Philippines and end the group stage with a match against Myanmar on December 21 in Viet Tri.
Regarding the squad, coach Kim Sang-sik prioritizes using experienced players such as Quang Hai, Tien Linh, Duy Manh, Tien Dung, Nguyen Filip, Xuan Manh, Van Thanh... and only 3 young faces: Van Khang, Vi Hao and Trung Kien.
Ahead of the tournament, the Korean coach shared: “The team’s goal is to reach the final of the tournament. That is the expectation of all Vietnamese fans, the whole team and myself. To do that, we need to try our best starting from the opening match against Laos and try to win every match."
