On October 1, coach Polking (Hanoi Police) attended a press conference before the match against Tai Po (Hong Kong, China) in the AFC Champions League Two.
At the beginning, Mr. Polking emphasized the goal of Hanoi Police: "Of course, the highest goal is to win this match. In the opening match against Beijing Guoan, we did not play as we expected and the result was not as expected. Hanoi Police want to go further in this tournament, so they must win tomorrow's match".
Evaluating the opponent, the Brazilian coach said: "This is a well-organized and dominating team in the Hong Kong tournament (China). I know some coaches and assistants working in Tai Po. They have many excellent players and good foreign players. I believe this will be an interesting match.
Tai Po is a strong team, sometimes in football there is a change in strength over time, but they are still a formidable opponent. With the regulations in the AFC Champions League Two, the two teams can use the maximum number of foreign players. Therefore, tomorrow's confrontation is worth watching".
Regarding the performance of the Hanoi Police players, coach Polking said: "Currently, Viet Anh, Adou Minh, Van Thanh are injured. After the recent match with Nam Dinh, Quang Hai was also injured, so this will be very difficult.
However, I believe my squad has depth, the players are practicing hard, and are ready to replace them. In addition, many players in the team can play in many positions".
When asked specifically about Nguyen Filip's case, especially when he was unstable in form and most recently was not on the list of players called up to the Vietnam national team, Mr. Polking said: "Filip is a high-class goalkeeper. Previously, he did not perform well in some matches, but he kept a clean sheet in the last 2 matches. Therefore, it cannot be said that Filip is not good, he is gradually coming back.
Playing for the national team is a source of pride, we have 4 players present. The decision of the head coach of the Vietnam national team is the highest and they always choose the best players. With the recent improvement in form, I believe Filip will soon return to the national team".
The match between Hanoi Police and Tai Po in the AFC Champions League Two 2025-2026 will take place at 7:15 p.m. on October 2.
