On the night of January 4 (Vietnam time), U17 Vietnam drew 1-1 with U17 Australia in the opening match of the 2025 U17 Asian Cup finals. This is a commendable match for young Vietnamese players as the opponent is a team with superior physique and physical strength.
Speaking after the match, coach Cristiano Roland of the U17 Vietnam team admitted that this was not an easy match.
"At first, the players had difficulty catching up, but in the second half, they got used to the pace of the game and played better. We scored, created many finishing opportunities and deserved 1 point.
U17 Vietnam was a bit lucky, but that was the result of their tireless efforts. In particular, in the second half, the players demonstrated the Vietnamese spirit of not giving up. I am very proud of my students," the Brazilian coach affirmed.

Coach Cristiano Roland believes that this match will give the young players more confidence so that they can play better in the following matches.
The opponent in the second match of U17 Vietnam is the most highly rated team in Group B, and is also a candidate for the championship - U17 Japan.
Looking forward to this match, Mr. Cristiano Roland said: "Every match in this group is difficult. The upcoming match is extremely challenging when facing U17 Japan. We will study our opponents carefully and take the field with the highest determination".
The match between U17 Vietnam and U17 Japan will take place at 22:00 on April 7.
