On the afternoon of March 3, the U17 Vietnam team had an active training session at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center. This is a training session to prepare for the 2025 U17 Asian Cup finals, taking place in April in Saudi Arabia.

On the sidelines of the training session, coach Cristiano Roland said: "First of all, I would like to thank the Vietnam Football Federation for giving me the opportunity to continue leading U17 Vietnam. This is a great honor and I pledge to do my best to repay this trust.
Regarding the upcoming goal, we will focus on each match, making every effort to achieve the best results. Experience from the recent qualifiers shows that careful preparation and high determination are key factors to bring success".
Regarding the list of 34 players called up, Mr. Roland said: "The factors called up this time are the results of a thorough assessment and careful selection process. We have reviewed the form, ability and potential of each player. In the coming period, the coaching staff will continue to evaluate and screen, selecting the strongest squad, ready for the Asian finals".

In the U17 Vietnam squad, there is the appearance of overseas Vietnamese from the Netherlands, Thomas Mai Veeren (Mai Cong Thanh).
"In Thomas' case, it's true that I haven't had the opportunity to watch him play directly. However, through YouTube videos, I have had initial assessments of his strengths.
Following me directly during training will help me make a more accurate assessment and decide whether Thomas is suitable for the team or not. We will continue to monitor and evaluate to make a final decision," emphasized the U17 Vietnam captain.

Regarding expertise, coach Roland said that U17 Vietnam will focus on improving the quality of daily training, improving tactics and enhancing cohesion between players.
In addition, the training trip to Oman with the upcoming 2 friendly matches is very important for the team. Although the training time is short, the whole team will make the most of it so that the players can get used to the tactics and improve their physical strength.
