Continental Futsal Championship 2026 will take place from June 1 to August 8 in Thailand with the participation of 5 teams including Vietnam, Russia, Thailand, Afghanistan, New Zealand.

Organized annually since 2021, the Continental Futsal Championship is increasingly affirming its quality when it gathers many high-level teams. This is a playground for teams to test tactics, evaluate forces and accumulate experience before official tournaments.

This year, 5 teams will compete in a round-robin format to determine the champion, meaning each team has 4 matches against other opponents.

For the Vietnamese futsal team, this is a valuable opportunity to rub against opponents with diverse playing styles.

Russia is one of the leading futsal nations in the world with a FIFA Futsal World Cup runner-up record. Host Thailand has held the No. 1 position in Southeast Asia for many years and regularly participates in the World Cup arena. Afghanistan is emerging as a new power of Asian futsal, while New Zealand possesses a physical foundation and a characteristic fast playing style.

According to the schedule, coach Diego Giustozzi's team will open with a confrontation with Russia on August 1. After that, the Vietnamese team will successively meet New Zealand (August 2), Afghanistan (August 3) and close the group stage with a match against host Thailand on August 5.

Not only aiming for results, the Continental Futsal Championship is also an opportunity for the coaching staff to verify the squad, review expertise and improve the playing style before important tasks in the year. Competing with strong teams will also help players accumulate more experience in a high-quality international competition environment.

The tournament will take place from June 1 - 8 in Thailand. FPT Play will broadcast live and fully all the matches above.
