On the evening of July 25, the final match of the HDBank National Futsal Championship 2026 closed with the championship belonging to Thai Son Bac club after a convincing 6-0 victory over Tan Hiep Hung TPHCM.
Before the decisive round, Thai Son Bac led the rankings with 34 points, 1 point more than defending champion Thai Son Nam TPHCM. This means that the capital team must win to decide their own championship.
In the match that took place earlier, Thai Son Nam TPHCM completed the task by overcoming Sahako with a score of 4-2. Chau Doan Phat and foreign player Italo scored in the first half, helping the white shirt team lead 2-1. In the second half, although Sahako at one point equalized 2-2, the goals of Minh Man and Thinh Phat helped Thai Son Nam TPHCM win all 3 points, thereby creating great pressure on Thai Son Bac.
Entering the match afterwards, Thai Son Bac faced many difficulties against Tan Hiep Hung TPHCM's determined play. Coach Victor Acosta's team only got the opening goal in the first half thanks to Cong Dai's goal.
In the second half, the game completely belonged to Thai Son Bac. Foreign player Mota doubled the gap with a beautiful free kick. In an effort to find an equalizer, Tan Hiep Hung TPHCM used a power-play tactic but it was not effective, even continuously conceding goals into the empty goal.
Cong Dai completed a double, while Quang Vinh and Trong Kien successively wrote their names on the scoreboard, sealing a 6-0 victory for Thai Son Bac.
This result helped Thai Son Bac finish the season with 37 points after 14 matches, just 1 point more than Thai Son Nam TPHCM to win the 2026 National HDBank Futsal Championship.
This is the second time Thai Son Bac has stepped onto the highest throne of Vietnamese futsal, after the first championship in 2010, and also ending the 16-year waiting period. Meanwhile, Thai Son Nam TPHCM closed the season in the runner-up position despite maintaining an unbeaten record after 14 rounds. With 14 previous championships, the TPHCM team is still the most successful club in the history of the tournament.
