After defeating Thailand on the evening of January 5 to win the ASEAN Cup 2024, the Vietnamese team returned home and the players had a few days of rest before returning to their clubs to prepare for the 1/8 round of the 2024-2025 National Cup.

The latest match in the 1/8 round of the 2024-2025 National Cup between Dong A Thanh Hoa and Hai Phong (taking place on March 4, 2025) will be the confrontation between Doan Ngoc Tan (Dong A Thanh Hoa) and the best goalkeeper of the ASEAN Cup 2024 Nguyen Dinh Trieu (Hai Phong).
Previously, midfielder Doan Ngoc Tan of the Vietnamese team after the 2024 ASEAN Cup campaign also joined Dong A Thanh Hoa club to play in the 2024-2025 Southeast Asian Cup C1 against Thailand's PG Pathum United on the opponent's field. In this match, Ngoc Tan scored a super goal in the 1-1 draw of the Vietnamese representative against the Thai team. He also won the title of Best Player of the match.
