On the evening of January 14, Thanh Hoa club faced many difficulties when hosting Nam Dinh at home in round 12 of V.League 2024-2025. The away team opened the scoring with a goal by Mpande in the 70th minute and Ribamar's header in the 88th minute helped coach Popov's team retain a valuable point.
After the match, midfielder Doan Ngoc Tan shared: "Today, Dong A Thanh Hoa club started well but unfortunately conceded the first goal in the second half due to a corner kick. Thanh Hoa team tried hard and... kept on giving up, scored and won 1 point."
The midfielder's statement made the audience laugh. Instead of saying "never give up", he mistakenly said "never give up".
Notably, Ngoc Tan's teammate on the national team - striker Tien Linh also wrote the same mistake on his personal Facebook page.
After finishing his interview on television, Doan Ngoc Tan soon realized that he had made a "mistake". He said that he wanted to say that Thanh Hoa was trying hard and not giving up. However, because he answered quickly, he said the wrong thing.

Today (January 14), the player from Son Tay continued to play with his teammates in the 12th round of V.League against Nam Dinh. Ngoc Tan also missed a chance in the last minute of extra time.
"My body is a bit tired, but I will eat, sleep and rest to ensure my fitness to compete for Thanh Hoa. I think I still have to try even though it is a bit overloaded.
Recently, I joined the Vietnam national team for the first time and played in the ASEAN Cup 2024 for the first time. There were many surprises, difficulties and pressures, but everyone helped me. Now that I am back at the club, I still have to strive to achieve the team's goals.
The most terrible time for me was from the first leg against Thailand. I played 3 matches in just 7 days, the last match was against BG Pathum United," Doan Ngoc Tan said.
