Today (October 1), the U17 Vietnam team arrived in Saudi Arabia, officially starting the journey to participate in the 2025 U17 Asian Championship, finding a ticket to the 2025 U17 World Cup.
As soon as they arrived at the tournament venue, the young Vietnamese players were happy and showed their relaxed spirit before the opening day.
The 2025 U17 Asian Cup finals are considered the qualifiers for the 2025 U17 World Cup. The tournament took place from April 3 to 20 in Saudi Arabia with the participation of 16 teams. The top 8 teams in the group stage will qualify for the World Cup.

For the U17 Vietnam team, coach Cristiano Roland and his team had a training trip in Oman before moving to Saudi Arabia. Gia Bao and his teammates have had two wins with a score of 1-0 when playing a friendly match with the U17 Oman team.
This is a valuable test for coach Roland to experiment with the squad and have more calculations on personnel as well as playing style for the continental tournament.
According to the list published by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), the U17 Vietnam team has 23 registered players. The three players whose names were removed by coach Cristiano Roland include Tran Hoang Khanh (PVF), Ha Huy Phuc (Hanoi) and Mai Viet Dung (Ha Tinh).
However, because the deadline for the organizing committee to finalize the list of participating teams is 1 day before the first match, this list is not the final list.
In the 2025 U17 Asian Cup finals, the U17 Vietnam team is in Group B with Japan, Australia and the UAE. According to the schedule, U17 Vietnam will start against U17 Australia (on April 4), then meet U17 Japan (7.4) and U17 UAE (4.10).
