On May 29, the Vietnam U19 team started training in Medan (Indonesia) after settling down. This is an important stage for the whole team to review their expertise before entering the 2026 U19 Southeast Asian Championship.
After the journey from Hanoi to Indonesia the night before, the coaching staff prioritized helping the players recover their physical condition and then quickly bring the team back to the training ground. The lesson plan in the first session mainly focused on high-intensity exercise combined with maintaining the feeling of the ball to help the players regain their competitive state.

The training session took place under a temperature of about 32 degrees Celsius, but it was not too difficult for U19 Vietnam because the team had spent many days training in a similar hot environment in Hanoi. This is considered an advantage to help players adapt quickly to the local climate.
According to assessments from the coaching staff, the players maintained a positive training spirit and well met professional requirements. The physical foundation of the whole team was ensured after domestic preparation, while the competitive mentality also showed readiness before the regional tournament.

In addition to professional factors, the field conditions and facilities at Medan are assessed to be suitable for the team's preparation plan. This helps the coaching staff have more advantages in deploying tactical exercises in the following days.
At the 2026 U19 Southeast Asian Championship, U19 Vietnam is in Group A with U19 Indonesia, U19 Myanmar and I19 Timor Leste. The team will meet Timor Leste on June 1st, Myanmar on June 4th before facing host Indonesia on June 7th.
