On the afternoon of March 11, the U22 Vietnam team had its second training session after gathering at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center. Sharing with the media, coach Dinh Hong Vinh affirmed that the team's goal in 2025 is to qualify for the U23 Asian qualifiers and the 33rd SEA Games gold medal.
"Our main goal is to select the optimal U23 squad in September, to participate in the U23 Asian qualifiers and then the SEA Games. We will select players who are suitable for the 3-4-3 formation that the team has built."
"I have worked with coach Kim Sang-sik for a long time in the national team. In the U22 team, we have always shared the same view and playing style as the team. I always talk to Mr. Kim throughout the process, from the curriculum to training, planning. Two weeks ago, we had a working session and discussed in Ho Chi Minh City about the style and philosophy of the team, to stick with the U22 team," said Mr. Dinh Hong Vinh.
"When on the field, the team always sets the highest goal of winning. Players must complete the requirements in their playing style. Therefore, we will promote each match, so that the players can complete individual and collective goals," Mr. Dinh Hong Vinh added.
After gathering in Hanoi, U22 Vietnam will travel to China to participate in the 2025 CFA Team International Friendly Football Tournament. At the tournament, U22 Vietnam will meet U22 Korea (dated 21.3), U22 Uzbekistan (23.3) and U22 China (25.3).
