On the afternoon of August 24, in Hanoi, the signing ceremony of the sponsorship agreement for the 2026-2027 National Football Championship took place, marking the third consecutive year LPBank has accompanied the tournament.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Tran Anh Tu - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietnam Professional Football Joint Stock Company (VPF) - said: "The 2026-2027 season promises to bring new experiences, improve professional work. The companionship of sponsors, clubs, partners, media and the cheers of millions of fans promise to help the season have a new imprint, contributing to enhancing the position of Vietnamese professional football".
In this year's V.League, the total bonus amount for the top 3 teams is still 9.5 billion VND. The champion is awarded a cup, a gold medal and 5 billion VND; the runner-up team receives a silver medal and 3 billion VND, while the third-placed team receives a bronze medal and 1.5 billion VND.
A notable change this season is that each team is allowed to register and use a maximum of 4 foreign players at the same time on the field, an increase of one spot compared to last season. For clubs participating in AFC and AFF continental tournaments, the number of foreign players allowed to register is increased to a maximum of 7, but the limit of use in one match is still 4 players.
VAR continues to appear throughout the season with 5 operating vehicles meeting FIFA standards, supporting the refereeing team in situations that need to be checked.
In the television stage, the 2026-2027 season marks the 5th consecutive year that FPT Play has taken on the role of television partner, accompanying in the production and broadcasting of national professional football tournaments.
The television graphics system is also newly designed, synchronized with VPF's identity to create a unified image for the tournament.
In addition, this platform has put into use a new interface on the website and mobile application, in which the Sports area is reorganized so that viewers can easily follow live scores, schedules and rankings.
The 2026-2027 national professional season will begin with the National Super Cup match on August 30.
V.League kicks off on September 4, 2026 and ends on May 22, 2027. The First Division takes place from September 11, 2026 to May 16, 2027, and the National Cup starts on September 18, 2026 and ends on May 30, 2027.
