On November 24, Vietnam Professional Football Joint Stock Company (VPF) held the 2024 Annual General Meeting of Shareholders.
The positive point in 2024 for VPF is effective business operations. Accordingly, in 2024, VPF's expected revenue figure is 113.8% higher than in 2023.
Thanks to this, VPF can provide better financial support to professional clubs in the V.League and the National First Division. In addition to the fixed annual advertising expenses, VPF also shares television copyright fees with football teams based on the league's overall rankings along with other support.
According to the report at the Congress, the total financial support cost for 25 clubs in the 2023-2024 season is nearly 32 billion VND, an increase of 23% compared to the support level in the 2023 season. In particular, the money for sharing television copyright in the 2023-2024 season alone increased by 24.8% compared to the previous season.
In addition, in 2024, VPF plans to provide additional support of VND14 billion to clubs to have a budget for repairing, maintaining and upgrading facilities. This is considered a highly practical expenditure in the effort to build the tournament's image and upgrade the tournament's organization conditions.
VPF also approved a support payment of VND300 million for three clubs representing Vietnam in international tournaments, as well as assigning personnel to coordinate the organization of international matches. For each team that passes the group stage, VPF continues to pay a bonus of VND300 million and VND200 million for each team that passes the knockout round as an incentive. It is expected that the total amount of money spent could reach VND3.9 billion depending on the results of the clubs' matches.
Financial records in 2024 continue to be the premise for VPF Company to implement long-term plans in development orientation, thereby gradually improving the quality of professional football tournaments.
Also at the Congress, VPF noted other positive points such as the effective application of VAR from the 2023-2024 season until now. VPF also focused on communication, television, and enhancing the image of the tournament.
Television coverage of tournaments continues to be ensured with 100% of matches being broadcast live on multiple platforms, easily accessible to audiences nationwide.
