Positive changes in V.League, National First Division

AN NGUYÊN |

The year 2024 will mark the national professional football tournaments (V.League, First Division) on the path to completion and development in a modern direction.

The 2023-2024 season ends in July 2024, marking the first season in which national championships are held over two years, from this fall to next summer.

This change towards professionalism has brought many positive marks to clubs and national teams. The proof is the V.League championship race and Nam Dinh won the championship with emotion after 39 years of waiting.

From the first lessons, the next season 2024-2025 is organized more completely, the clubs adapt to change quickly, thereby creating a vibrant competitive atmosphere in V.League, National First Division and National Cup...

2024 also marks a development step in the widespread use of VAR technology in the V.League. If in the 2023-2024 season, VAR was applied in 3-4 matches/round (a total of 7 matches), then entering the new 2024-2025 season, VAR has been widely applied in the 3 regions of the North, Central and South with at least 6 matches per round having VAR, many rounds 7/7 matches all applied VAR.

The roadmap set by the tournament organizers has been achieved when the number of VAR vehicles meeting FIFA standards is 4 vehicles (2 vehicles from the North, 1 vehicle from the Central Highlands, 1 vehicle from the South). With VAR, the controversy over referee decisions has decreased, professional quality has increased, creating trust for participating clubs and fans nationwide.

After many seasons of implementing each step firmly and tightly, 2024 witnessed a bigger and stronger breakthrough when for the first time there was a set of 3 trophies designed specifically for each professional tournament, made by artisans of the Thomas Lyte jeweler (headquartered in London, UK).

The prestigious trophies have further honored the beauty and value of the champions of Vietnam's professional football tournaments, creating a good media effect when the trophies are introduced to fans at the end of the 2023-2024 season.

The image of the tournament in general and the teams in particular is also enhanced with a short film introducing the tournament that is invested in and produced every year, creating a spread and attracting the attention of the audience.

In the 2024-2025 season, football fans will receive a short film of the season, from the content, the way of expression and the music used.

Vietnamese football in general and V.League in particular will develop based on the foundation of cultural quintessence being preserved, while at the same time strongly transmitting and spreading to football-loving audiences nationwide.

On the professional path, the collective efforts are inseparable, which are the clubs participating in the tournament. With the spirit of learning and continuous improvement, Vietnamese professional clubs are increasingly interested in developing their image with a professional and dynamic working team, along with strong investment in expertise and facilities to serve the organization of competitions.

Therefore, the image of football teams is increasingly neat and professional on many media and communication platforms, creating a great influence in the community.

It is worth noting that not only the clubs competing in V.League, but also the First Division clubs are doing better and investing more in this team.

The year 2024 marks groundbreaking changes in national professional football tournaments, marking the maturity of the 25-year development journey of professional football.
