On November 26, Vietnam Professional Football Joint Stock Company (VPF) held an annual General Meeting of Shareholders in 2025 to comprehensively assess its activities in 2025 and plan for 2026.

In his opening speech, Mr. Tran Anh Tu - Chairman of the Board of Directors of VPF Company emphasized that 2025 is the time to mark the strong adaptation of Vietnamese professional football to the requirements of innovation and integration. 2025 continues to mark the maturity of the professional football system through the 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 seasons. The 2024-2025 season ended with many positive professional marks. Preparations for the 2025-2026 season have been implemented on schedule despite challenges in time and fluctuations in the number of teams.

An important highlight is expanding the application of VAR. Accordingly, the 2024-2025 season has reached more than 90% of the matches using VAR in the V.League. In the 2025-2026 season, VPF will invest in an additional FIFA-standard VAR car, aiming for nearly 100% of matches in the national championship to apply this technology, while bringing VAR to the earlier rounds of the First Division and the National Cup. Referee training and operational techniques have also been promoted, gradually moving towards the autonomy of VAR referees.

The 2025 business report shows that VPF maintains its financial situation with revenue exceeding the plan, fully ensuring annual expenditures for the Vietnam Football Federation, clubs and tournament organization activities.

In the 2024-2025 season alone, nearly 33 billion VND has been spent on advertising and television rights. The two teams representing Vietnam in the international tournament, Nam Dinh and Hanoi Police, were supported with VND300 million per tournament, along with bonuses increased according to achievements, with a total estimated value of VND4.4 billion.

VPF also invests in upgrading on-field facilities, adjusting and increasing the regime for referees, supervising and adding season-end awards for individuals who have excellently completed their tasks.

In the field of trade and communication, VPF coordinated with FPT Play to implement many activities to increase revenue, while focusing on promoting the image of the tournament. Notably, the season introduction film was inspired by the space war, creating a positive effect. Television work has been improved with modern equipment and increased camera numbers, improving the audience experience.

The Congress has approved many important documents, determining the direction for 2026 with the goal of continuing to improve the quality of organizing the 2025-2026 National Professional Football Tournament and preparing for the 2026-2027 season. VPF affirmed that it will promote results, innovate management and complete the set tasks.
