The match between Ho Chi Minh City Youth and PVF-CAND in round 4 of the 2024-2025 First Division on the evening of November 14 left an ugly image with bad behavior from the leaders and coaching staff of PVF-CAND club when they reacted and insulted the referee with many uncontrolled words. Along with that was the scuffle that occurred in the tunnel when returning to the locker room between Nguyen Xuan Nam (PVF-CAND) and Vu Van Son (Ho Chi Minh City Youth).
The organizing committee, Vietnam Professional Football Joint Stock Company (VPF), affirmed that the above incidents seriously violated the tournament rules and regulations of professional football. In particular, unsportsmanlike acts and acts of physical abuse against others are always strongly condemned in any tournament in the world and in Vietnam, this is no exception.
Through the discussion, Head of the Organizing Committee of the National Professional Football Tournaments 2024-2025 Nguyen Minh Ngoc affirmed that bad and unsportsmanlike behavior must be condemned and handled very severely.
This morning (November 15), the Standing Committee of the Organizing Committee met to discuss and evaluate the events that occurred after the match between Ho Chi Minh City Youth and PVF-CAND.
The documents and reports on the violations have been fully compiled by the tournament organizing committee and sent to the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) Disciplinary Committee for consideration and handling. Based on the reports and related documents, the tournament organizing committee proposed to handle the incident of the scuffle between player Nguyen Xuan Nam (PVF-CAND) and player Vu Van Son (HCMC Youth) in the tunnel area. Player Nguyen Xuan Nam was the one who initiated the aggressive words and actions towards player Vu Van Son.
In addition to the scuffle between the two players, the tournament's Organizing Committee also sent a report requesting consideration and increased disciplinary action for the reaction and insults to the referee by Mr. Mai Trung Hai - Head of the PVF-CAND Club and Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Nga - Communications Officer of PVF-CAND Club after the match.
