On the evening of November 14, PVF-CAND club traveled to Thong Nhat Stadium to meet the Ho Chi Minh City Youth team, within the framework of round 4 of the 2024-2025 National First Division.
Despite being rated higher, PVF-CAND could not score and had to accept sharing points with Ho Chi Minh City Youth after a 0-0 draw. After 4 matches, PVF CAND has 8 points and is temporarily ranked 3rd on the 2024-2025 First Division rankings.
However, the focus of this match did not come from the professional quality or performance of the players during the 90 minutes of play. Instead, a scuffle broke out between players of both teams after the match ended.
According to information from the PVF-CAND club posted on its Fanpage, after the match, player Xuan Nam of the away team was beaten by a young player from the Ho Chi Minh City Youth team right in front of the locker room.
"I was punched by Son (Vu Van Son of Ho Chi Minh City Youth - PV) and then ran away. Before that, on the field, I was a striker and Son was a defender, so we provoked and cursed each other. The problem is that Son is ten years younger than me. So when I entered the tunnel, I talked to Son and then pushed him in the chest. He punched me before I could react and then ran away," said Xuan Nam.
Responding to Lao Dong, Vu Van Son (the person accused of beating Xuan Nam) said that he and Xuan Nam had an argument on the field while the match was taking place. After entering the tunnel, the two sides continued to exchange words. It was Xuan Nam who first pushed the Ho Chi Minh City Youth team player in the chest, and then the fight broke out.
Meanwhile, coach Tran Duy Quang of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth team said: "At that time, I had not entered the tunnel yet, but I heard my teammates recount the incident. During the match, these two players had collided.
After the match, when entering the tunnel, the two players had another argument. Some team members said that player Xuan Nam hit the player from Ho Chi Minh City Youth first, so my student hit back."
The incident is likely to be reported to the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and Vietnam Professional Football Joint Stock Company (VPF) by the match supervisor soon. The members involved will face heavy penalties from the organizing committee of the 2024-2025 National First Division.
