Before that, host China easily defeated Indonesia with a score of 6-0, while Thailand also proved their strength with a 5-2 victory over Hong Kong (China). Japan is the remaining team to participate in the semi-finals after defeating Vietnam with a score of 2-0. Despite receiving high expectations, the Vietnamese women's futsal team has yet to create a surprise against a strong opponent from East Asia.
According to the match schedule, China will meet Thailand in the first semi-final, while Japan will face Iran in the second semi-final. All 4 teams will compete for 3 tickets to the 2025 Women's Futsal World Cup finals - a world tournament held for the first time at the women's futsal level.
Among the four semi-finalists, host China are rated lower than Japan, Iran and Thailand.
