Determining 8 teams entering the quarter-finals of the 2024-2025 National Cup

The 2024-2025 National Cup has determined the 8 strongest teams to participate in the quarter-finals.

With a 1-0 victory over Thanh Hoa on the evening of March 4, Hai Phong club became the last team to win a ticket to the quarter-finals of the 2024-2025 National Cup.

Thus, the 8 teams participating in the quarterfinals include: Binh Duong, Phu Dong Ninh Binh, Song Lam Nghe An, Cong An Ha Noi, Hoang Anh Gia Lai, Dong Thap, The Cong Viettel and Hai Phong.

In the quarter-finals, Hai Phong's opponent is Hanoi Police. The police team owns a quality squad with many national stars such as Quang Hai, Van Thanh, Dinh Bac, and Viet Anh. This is a big challenge for coach Chu Dinh Nghiem and his team as Hanoi Police is considered a "difficult" opponent compared to Thanh Hoa.

The match between Hai Phong and Hanoi Police will take place at 7:15 p.m. on April 22, 2025 at Lach Tray Stadium. This match will also be the latest match in the quarter-finals because Hanoi Police is busy competing in the Southeast Asian Club Championship.

Previously, the remaining 3 matches in the quarter-finals will take place on March 29 and 30, notably the match between The Cong Viettel and Hoang Anh Gia Lai at My Dinh Stadium. Binh Duong Club will face many challenges when facing the First Division team Phu Dong Ninh Binh, a team without foreign players but possessing a very strong squad.
