U23 Vietnam will open the CFA Team China - Xi'an 2026 tournament with a confrontation with U23 North Korea.
The U23 Vietnam squad chosen this time mainly includes players born from 2005 onwards. This is a group of personnel in the long-term plan aimed at major tournaments, including ASIAD 20.
The summoned list includes many players who have never played professional regularly such as Vu Quoc Anh or Ta Xuan Truong. For this group, participating at the U23 level means opening up opportunities for competition and affirming their abilities.
The training and competition process of U23 Vietnam at the tournament is the basis for the coaching staff to assess their adaptability as well as development potential.
Besides new faces, the team still maintains some players with international competition experience such as Cao Van Binh, Le Van Thuan or Nguyen Cong Phuong. These players have participated in regional and continental tournaments, playing a role in maintaining professional balance and supporting the youth group in the process of operating the playing style.
In addition, some players currently playing in the V.League and First Division such as Nguyen Quang Vinh, Tran Thanh Trung, Nguyen Vadim or Thai Ba Dat are also expected to create competition in the squad.
On the other side, U23 DPRK does not have much public information about the force. However, the teams of this country often maintain a physically strong, tightly organized playing style and adhere to tactical discipline.
The match between U23 Vietnam and U23 DPRK takes place at 2:00 PM today (March 25). Currently, Vietnamese broadcasters do not have the broadcasting rights for this match.
Lao Dong Newspaper will update the match results.
