In 2024, the safety and hygiene officers of the Vietnam - Russia Joint Venture Vietsovpetro conducted over 1,000 early-hour inspections. Thereby, 1,057 risks and shortcomings related to labor safety were detected, including 580 technical violations, 107 violations of protective equipment and 307 violations of labor hygiene. The risks and shortcomings were reported, promptly and seriously corrected and prevented, creating the premise for a safer working environment.
One of the units that shared their experiences in managing the team of safety and hygiene workers was the Construction Enterprise. With the nature of long-term offshore work, the Enterprise representative discussed the importance of selecting the right personnel, regular training and close supervision during the work process.
Accordingly, in the offshore working environment, the safety and hygiene team acts as the “gatekeepers” to protect the safety of the entire project. In fact, selecting individuals who are not only good at their profession but also have the ability to handle situations quickly is a key factor.
The Construction Enterprise has done this well through a thorough screening process and prioritizing experienced individuals. Furthermore, organizing training courses in the form of “hands-on training” right on site helps safety and hygiene officers to grasp practical knowledge immediately. Discussing this work, Mr. Hoang Phuc Long - Chairman of Vietsovpetro Trade Union said that in 2025, Vietsovpetro Trade Union will continue to accompany to improve the network of safety and hygiene workers, organize internal safety and hygiene competitions, promote skills training and strengthen inspection programs at the facility to ensure an absolutely safe working environment.
