Attending were Mr. Ngo Duy Hieu - Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour; Le Tien Truong - Member of the Executive Committee of the Government Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietnam National Textile and Garment Group; Cao Huu Hieu - General Director of Vietnam National Textile and Garment Group... and 250 delegates representing the will, aspirations, and voices of union members and workers throughout the industry.
The Congress listened to the report on reviewing the activities of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Textile and Garment Trade Union, term VI, period 2023-2025; reported on the results of implementing the Resolution of the 6th Congress and the tasks of the Vietnam Textile and Garment Trade Union, term VII, term 2025-2030; reported on summarizing opinions contributed to the draft document of the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress, the Charter of the Vietnam Trade Union (amended and supplemented), recommendations and proposals of workers and employees of the textile and garment industry to the Party, State, Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the Party Committee of Vietnam Textile and Garment Group.
In the past term, trade union activities of the system have made important progress. Many new contents have been implemented, many activities have left good impressions and have widespread spread. Directing work and key programs have been focused on right from the beginning of the term, helping to raise awareness, innovate thinking, stick to grassroots levels; being united, working together, accompanying businesses and workers, contributing to reducing difficulties, stabilizing production and social order and safety.
Typical are emulation movements, including the "Good Labor - Creative Labor" movement. Many initiative clubs have been formed, and ideas festivals have been organized. Skilled workers contests and promotion contests are maintained annually.
Over the past two years, the entire system has had 15,592 initiatives and solutions, making a profit of nearly 300 billion VND. Through the movement, many "initiative trees", "good workers" have been discovered, fostered, and built typical examples; good methods and ways of doing things have been spread; many breakthrough solutions in technology, automation, new products... have been transferred and replicated.
The 7th Congress of the Vietnam Textile and Garment Trade Union determined the striving targets for the 2025 - 2030 term. The target group is directly under the responsibility of the Vietnam Textile and Garment Trade Union, notably the target of striving for 100% of workers to be trade union members; 100% of full-time officials to be trained in knowledge, skills, and professional work experience.
One of the coordinated target groups is that average annual income increases by 2-3% higher than the actual CPI; average annual total labor productivity (TFP) increases by 5%...
The Congress calls on all officials, union members, and workers throughout the industry to promote the achievements, resolutely overcome limitations, continue to build a strong worker and trade union organization, with the spirit of Solidarity - Democracy - Discipline - Innovation - Development; for the jobs and lives of workers; for the sustainable development of Vietnam's textile and garment industry and the country in the new era.
Speaking at the Congress, Mr. Ngo Duy Hieu and Mr. Le Tien Truong both highly appreciated the operating results of the Vietnam Textile and Garment Trade Union in the past time. The Trade Union has cared for, propagated, and encouraged workers to stick with and work with businesses to overcome difficulties.
Regarding the tasks of the new term, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour Ngo Duy Hieu requested the Vietnam Textile and Garment Trade Union to continue to innovate thinking in Trade Union activities; clearly see the harmonious benefits of all parties in labor relations; continue to improve the capacity to negotiate, sign and implement collective labor agreements with policies beneficial to workers; focus on salaries, meal allowances, working conditions, welfare, increase the rate of collective labor agreements reaching type A, B...
Lao Dong Newspaper congratulated the Vietnam Textile and Garment Trade Union on successfully organizing the VII Congress, electing a Executive Committee of 25 people and Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Tam re-elected as Chairwoman of the Vietnam Textile and Garment Trade Union.
