The Textile and Garment Trade Union takes care of thousands of workers with practical actions

Activities of Workers' Month, Action Month on Occupational Safety and Health in 2026 are implemented synchronously at all levels of the Vietnam Textile and Garment Trade Union.

Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Tam - Chairwoman of the Vietnam Textile and Garment Trade Union (DMVN) said that the DMVN Trade Union organized a launching ceremony in the Southern region and many launching ceremonies took place at grassroots trade unions. Sponsored 500 uniforms and mobilized 100 workers to participate in the parade at the 140th anniversary of International Labor Day and respond to Workers' Month activities organized by the VGCL.

Organizing the North - Central - South Textile and Garment Health Festival with sports: football, tug of war, running and Pickleball attracted nearly 560 athletes who are union members and workers from 33 grassroots trade unions in the system. DMVN Trade Union awarded 83 prizes to 30 collectives and 79 individuals with outstanding achievements with a total amount of over 370 million VND.

At the grassroots level, 106/116 units organized the Launching Ceremony and response activities, of which 98 units belonged to the business bloc.

The units have integrated and organized many cultural and sports activities to attract a large number of union members and workers (NLĐ) to participate; selected teams and practiced participating in industry-level Health Festivals; organized sports and arts exchanges between grassroots trade union members, departmental trade unions and maintained mid-hour physical exercise activities, contributing to building grassroots cultural life and improving health for workers; Organized "Thank you members" activities, organized gratitude activities, meetings, commendation and rewards for workers with high achievements, many initiatives, and attachment to businesses; Organized "Workers' Market", "Det Sale Week for NLĐ", "Trade Union Meal" and strengthened dialogue, proposed to increase welfare regimes for NLĐ; awarded discount shopping vouchers to encourage NLĐ to consume garment products manufactured by businesses; presented gifts and supported NLĐ to borrow money to solve difficulties, borrow capital to build a family economy...

DMVN Trade Union has also provided difficult assistance to 522 union members and workers in difficult circumstances, who suffered from work accidents, occupational diseases, and poor households with the amount of 539.4 million VND; unexpectedly supported 16 cases with 50 million VND; supported the construction and repair of 6 Trade Union Solidarity Houses with 280 million VND; supported 14 grassroots trade unions to purchase living, cultural, and sports equipment with 1,234.244 million VND. Reviewed and proposed that the VGCL award "Gifts from the Congress" to 155 union members and workers suffering from serious illnesses. The total amount of money DMVN Trade Union supported workers on the occasion of Workers' Month and Action Month on Occupational Safety and Health in 2026 is more than 2.1 billion VND.

The units have supported 5,840 union members and workers in particularly difficult circumstances; supported funding for building new and repairing trade union shelters; visited and presented gifts to workers in difficult circumstances, suffering from critical illnesses, and long-term treatment at the hospital. The total amount of care at the grassroots level is estimated at 5.5 billion VND.
