Previously, on June 3, Ha Tinh Provincial People's Committee issued a decision to liquidate planted forests damaged by storm No. 5 and storm No. 10 in 2025 with an area of 87.2 ha in Huong Do and Phuc Trach communes. This is a forest managed by the Huong Khe Protection Forest Management Board.

Slow liquidation reduces the value of forest products
Regarding the forest collapsing due to storms but approving liquidation after nearly a year, Mr. Nguyen Thuong Hai - Head of Huong Khe Protection Forest Management Board said that due to the large damaged forest area, it took a lot of time to investigate, survey and build dossiers.
Mr. Hoang Quoc Huan - Head of Ha Tinh Forest Protection Department also said that the dossiers and procedures related to the liquidation of planted forests damaged by storms No. 5 and No. 10 in 2025 are slow due to slow investigation, statistics, and dossier preparation from grassroots levels, from forest management boards, so they have to be extended many times.
Mr. Nguyen Tien Hung - Deputy Director of Ha Tinh Department of Agriculture and Environment said that the delay in dossiers and procedures for liquidating planted forests damaged by storms No. 5 and No. 10 in 2025 is due to the large area, while the human resources of forest management boards are thin, so it takes a lot of time to survey, statistics, and prepare dossiers for approval. The delay in exploitation and liquidation of fallen forests due to storms will affect the value of liquidated forest products, reducing the value of forest products. However, procedures must still be carried out to ensure full compliance with regulations to be exploited and liquidated.
