Gifts from the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress" to textile and garment workers

Hanoi - July 2nd, "Gifts from the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress" were presented to 2 Vietnamese textile and garment workers.

Ms. Dang Thi Tu and Ms. Bui Thi Phuong, both industrial sewing machine operators at Hanoi Seam Factory and May 10 Corporation - JSC, are in very difficult circumstances.

The person who handed over "Gifts from the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress" directly to 2 female workers at the production workshop (to Ms. Dang Thi Tu) and at her home (to Ms. Bui Thi Phuong) was Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL) Nguyen Xuan Hung.

Also visiting 2 union members and workers in difficult circumstances were Mr. and Mrs.: Pham Thi Thanh Tam - Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour, Chairman of the Vietnam Textile and Garment Trade Union; Bach Thang Long - Standing Deputy General Director of May 10 Corporation - JSC; Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao - Deputy General Director of May 10 Corporation - JSC; Nguyen Thi Dao - Chairman of the Trade Union of May 10 Corporation - JSC...

Ms. Dang Thi Tu has stage 4 chronic kidney failure, other anemia, non-specific polycystic kidney, urinary tract infection, unidentified location. Ms. Tu had to take leave from work to go for treatment at Duc Giang Hospital from February 4, 2025 to the end of February 28, 2025, then asked to be discharged from the hospital for outpatient treatment at home from March 1, 2025 to March 31, 2025.

After outpatient treatment, the results did not improve well, she herself could not eat, her body trembled, and on April 1, 2025, she had to be hospitalized at Viet Duc Hospital for blood filtration and dialysis treatment. To date, she still has to have dialysis twice a week at Viet Duc Hospital.

And Ms. Bui Thi Phuong has breast cancer in a severe condition, and had surgery on May 6, 2024. She is currently receiving monthly periodic treatment. Ms. Phuong herself is the main breadwinner in the family, having to support her elderly mother who has no income. Her family circumstances are very difficult.

Faced with the difficult circumstances of 2 female workers of May 10 Corporation - JSC, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor decided to present "Gifts from the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress" to share and support the 2 sisters with gifts for each sister including 2 million VND in cash and a gift worth 500,000 VND.
