At the conference, Comrade Pham Hoai Phuong - Chairman of the Vietnam Construction Trade Union emphasized that occupational safety and health are a consistent requirement in construction activities, a responsibility of state management agencies, businesses, trade union organizations and each worker.
“In the context of the Construction industry continuing to develop with increasing scale, construction technology becoming increasingly diverse, the requirement to ensure occupational safety and health (ATVSLĐ) is becoming increasingly urgent. Although occupational safety and health has had many positive changes, labor accidents in the construction sector still occur, requiring continued institutional improvement, improving management effectiveness and strengthening the responsibility of subjects participating in construction activities” - Comrade Pham Hoai Phuong said.
The Chairman of the Vietnam Construction Trade Union also highly appreciated the fact that the two units have agreed on many key coordination contents such as reviewing and completing the system of legal documents related to occupational safety and health; organizing activities to respond to the Action Month on occupational safety and health; strengthening legal propaganda, building a safety culture at the workplace; promoting occupational safety and health training; building safety technical guidance materials and assessing risks in construction; organizing inspections of compliance with occupational safety and health laws at construction sites.
For the Trade Union organization, ensuring OSH is not only a propaganda task but also a responsibility to represent, care for and protect union members and workers. The Vietnam Construction Trade Union will continue to closely coordinate with the State Authority for Construction Quality Inspection to effectively implement the Action Program, towards the goal of building a safe working environment, reducing labor accidents and contributing to the development of a safe and sustainable construction industry" - Chairman of the Vietnam Construction Trade Union emphasized.

At the conference, Comrade Hoang Hai - Director of the State Authority for Construction Quality Inspection also highly appreciated the coordination between the Vietnam Construction Trade Union and the Authority for Inspection in the past time. The strengthening of coordination between the two units aims to improve the efficiency of management of occupational safety and health in the Construction industry, contributing to improving working conditions, ensuring regimes and policies for union members and workers and minimizing labor accidents in the industry.
After exchanging, discussing and agreeing on the contents, the Vietnam Construction Trade Union and the State Authority for Construction Quality Inspection signed an Action Program to implement labor safety and hygiene work in the Construction industry.
The coordination program focuses on strengthening propaganda, dissemination and raising awareness and awareness of compliance with OSH laws in construction activities; and at the same time improving the efficiency of management, inspection, and guidance on OSH implementation in the Construction industry.
The two units will coordinate to review, advise on amending and supplementing legal documents related to OSH such as the amended OSH Law in 2026, decrees, circulars guiding and proposing amendments to QCVN 18:2021/BXD on safety in construction. At the same time, implement tasks according to Directive No. 31-CT/TW of the Secretariat and plans and decisions of the Ministry of Construction on OSH work.
