Spending from trade union financial sources over 11.204 billion VND
On March 20, 2025, the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor issued Decision No. 2968/QD-TLD on merging the Vietnam Construction Trade Union and the Vietnam Transport Trade Union, marking an important turning point in arranging the organizational structure of the Industry Trade Union in a streamlined, effective and efficient direction.
After more than a year of merger, CĐXDVN has gradually stabilized its organization, consolidated its apparatus, promoted its representative role, cared for and protected the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of union members and workers throughout the industry. CĐXDVN levels have focused on implementing many practical activities towards grassroots levels, caring for the lives of union members and workers (ĐV, NLĐ); promoting the emulation movement for good labor, creative labor; actively participating in building harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations in enterprises; propaganda work, union member development, and building a strong trade union organization continue to be concerned, contributing to enhancing the position and role of the trade union organization in the new situation" - Mr. Pham Hoai Phuong - Chairman of CĐXDVN said.
Regarding the work of caring for union members and workers, from the beginning of the year to now, at the industry trade union level, the Vietnam Construction Trade Union has visited and presented gifts to 5,549 union members and workers at affiliated units in the industry with a total amount of more than 5.757 billion VND. According to the industry trade union's summary, from the beginning of the year to now, affiliated trade union levels have coordinated to organize activities to visit and give gifts to 81,020 union members and workers with a total amount of more than 125.659 billion VND. Of which, expenditure from trade union financial sources is over 11.204 billion VND; coordinated with professional support and mobilized socialized sources of care money is more than 114.454 billion VND...
In the first quarter of 2026, CĐXDVN also developed 4 new grassroots trade unions and 788 new members; received 4 grassroots trade unions; introduced 116 outstanding trade union members for the Party to consider, foster, and admit.

Diverse activities to care for union members and workers in Workers' Month 2026
In the Workers' Month 2026, CĐXDVN implements a series of synchronous and practical activities, strongly focusing on grassroots levels with a focus on caring for workers, promoting dialogue and arousing initiative movements throughout the industry.
According to leaders of CĐXDVN, one of the highlights is the "May Dialogue" program and the forum for contributing opinions on building Trade Union organizations. This is identified as an important channel for heads of Party committees, authorities and businesses to directly listen to the thoughts and aspirations of workers, and at the same time receive recommendations to improve policies and trade union organization models in the new context.
In parallel with that, activities to care for union members' lives are widely deployed through the "Thank you to workers" program.
Trade union levels focus on visiting and supporting workers in difficult circumstances, who have had labor accidents, occupational diseases; organize "Trade Union Meals", improve the quality of lunch meals, and promote welfare programs such as preferential sales, periodic health check-ups, psychological counseling, and reproductive health care.
Along with that, the emulation movement for initiatives and technical improvements was strongly launched. The Vietnam Construction Trade Union set a target of having at least 10% of union members participate in proposing initiatives, of which 30% are applied in practice. Typical initiatives will be commended and replicated, contributing to improving labor productivity and production efficiency.
In addition, propaganda work is promoted with many diverse forms, from newspapers to digital platforms, focusing on spreading good models, effective practices and typical workers.
With an approach that takes UN members and workers as the center, towards grassroots levels and focuses on practical efficiency, Workers' Month 2026 of the Vietnam Construction Trade Union is expected to create a clear mark, contributing to building a team of construction workers who are increasingly modern, creative and integrated" - Mr. Pham Hoai Phuong shared.
