Soy milk and soy products
Soy milk contains isoflavones - a natural form of phytoestrogen that has a chemical structure similar to estrogen. When consumed in large amounts, isoflavones can stimulate the activity of estrogen receptors in the body, leading to an increase in female hormone levels.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), phytoestrogens found in soybeans can alter hormonal balance if consumed in high doses, especially in people who are sensitive to estrogen. Excessive use can cause hormonal imbalance, affect the menstrual cycle or increase the risk of gynecological diseases.
Industrial cow milk
Industrial cow's milk, especially from cows fed growth hormones, may contain small amounts of estrogen and estrogen-like substances. When consumed regularly, these compounds can increase the total amount of estrogen in the body.
An article in the journal Environmental Health Perspectives by the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) indicates that cow's milk may contain residual amounts of natural or synthetic estrogen.
This can increase the risk of hormone-related conditions such as menstrual irregularities or breast problems.
Pomegranate juice
Pomegranates are known to be a rich source of natural phytoestrogens. While beneficial for heart health, consuming too much pomegranate juice can lead to increased estrogen levels in the body. According to the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, pomegranates contain compounds that can stimulate the production of female hormones, but should be consumed in moderation. Excessive consumption can increase the risk of endocrine disruption or affect hormonal balance in both men and women.
