The trend of decorating houses to welcome Christmas and New Year, herring trees (also known as herring) are increasingly popular with many families.
The eye-catching green leaves and natural scent help this banyan tree bring warmth and signal that the Christmas season is approaching. However, this is a plant that housewives also need to pay attention to in their home care to help the fragrant breeze always stay green and durable.
Choose a location to receive natural light
An important factor that helps the herb maintain a bright green color is natural light. Although it can live and grow in the shade, monk fruit is still a bright plant.
Accordingly, the ideal location for planting is a window tray or eastward balcony, where there is a gentle scattered light. If left in the living room or on the desks, housewives need to take the plants out to dry them in the sun about 2-3 hours a day (before 10 am).
This method will help the plant photosynthesize, synthesize until thick and maintain the strength of the branches and leaves. Absolutely avoid direct harsh sunlight at noon because it will burn leaves and damage the plant quickly.
Control irrigation water
Waterming also requires special attention because this is also the main cause of fragrant perilla trees dying due to rot or drier. This is a moisture-loving plant but is very afraid of waterlogging due to the weak root system.
Check the moisture of the plant before watering, only water when the soil layer is dry. Instead of pouring water over the base, use a spray bottle to spray light fog over the entire canopy.
This way of watering not only helps clean dirt, increase moisture for leaves in dry, cold weather, but also stimulates the plant to give off a pleasant scent, helping to repel insects.
Avoid direct heat sources
Aromatherapy is a plant that prefers cool climates, with the best temperature ranging from 18 - 25 degrees Celsius. Therefore, the location of the plant in the house needs to be considered.
Housewives should also note not to place fragrant flowers near heat-reducing equipment such as the kitchen, air conditioning hot zone or computer ventilation hood.
The direct hot air will make the plant susceptible to dehydration, the soil will be dry, leading to the situation where the tops of the trees fall and the leaves turn dark brown, which is very difficult to recover.
Preventing diseases for plants
Disease prevention and nutritional supplementation for fragrant bcted plants are quite necessary. For newly purchased plants, do not fertilize immediately. After about 2 - 3 weeks, slow-mersing or lightly composted vermicompost around the base can be used.
Regularly check the leaves to detect early beds or worms that wade through the leaves. If you see the leaves withered or turned black, you need to use scissors to remove the damaged part to avoid spreading to other healthy branches.
