Over the past time, the whole country has entered a period of intense heat, many localities recorded high temperatures, exceeding 39 degrees Celsius.
In this weather, people are prone to sunstroke and heat shock, especially for those who regularly work and participate outdoors.
To minimize heat shock on sunny days, it is necessary to clearly understand the following preventive measures:
Equipped with full sun protection equipment
On hot sunny days, you should limit moving outdoors, especially during high heat times such as noon and afternoon. If it is not really necessary, you should not go out to avoid heat shock.
When there is important work or due to the nature of the work to be done in the sun, it is necessary to wear long clothes, fully equip with sun protection equipment such as hats, wide-brimmed hats, sun protection clothing, gloves, socks. You can add sunglasses to protect your eyes, apply sunscreen to reduce the impact of UV rays.
Despite having sun protection equipment, workers should not work for long periods when it is hot. Every 1-2 hours, they must go to a cool place to rest for about 10 minutes to help the body cool down, avoiding heat shock.
Supplement with enough water
On hot sunny days, it is necessary to drink enough water, avoid dehydration and salt depletion when working outdoors, moving on the street. In summer, the body often loses a lot of water and electrolytes due to high temperatures.
Prepare water, a little salt, sugar when going out. When you feel tired and exhausted, you need to replenish water immediately.
According to the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion, on hot sunny days, an adult should drink 2.5 - 3 liters of water/day.
Increase in fruits and vegetables
In addition to eating cooked food, drinking boiled water, and ensuring food safety and hygiene, families need to add more fruits and vegetables to their meals to provide necessary vitamins and minerals.
You should eat fruits such as grapefruit, orange, lemon, pear, pineapple... which are good for blood pressure and cool the body.
Do not let the temperature difference be too high
Heat shock from cold to hot and hot to cold is very common on hot days. You may be shocked and lose strength when going out because you have been in a room with air conditioning for a long time before.
Therefore, before going out, you should turn off the air conditioner 30 minutes in advance to allow your body to adapt to the temperature and avoid heat shock.
