How to eat sapodilla that increases blood sugar the least

Sapodilla contains a fairly high amount of natural sugar, so many people worry that eating this fruit can increase blood sugar.

Sapodilla is a familiar fruit with a light sweetness, soft fragrance and contains many nutrients good for health. Sapodilla contains vitamin A, vitamin C, fiber and many minerals that help strengthen resistance and support digestion.

However, because this fruit contains a fairly high amount of natural sugar, many people worry that eating sapodilla can increase blood sugar, especially for overweight or diabetic people.

In fact, if you know how to eat reasonably, sapodilla can still become a healthy food without greatly affecting blood sugar levels.

The first important thing is to control portion sizes

Although it is natural sugar, if you eat too much sapodilla at the same time, the body still absorbs a large amount of sugar, causing blood sugar to rise rapidly. Nutrition experts recommend eating only about half to a small fruit each time, especially for people at risk of diabetes. Eating in moderation helps the body absorb sugar gradually and limits sudden blood sugar spikes.

Eating times also significantly affect blood sugar control ability. Sapodilla should not be eaten on an empty stomach because natural sugar will be absorbed faster. Instead, it should be eaten one to two hours after main meals or eaten in snacks during the day. This is the time when the body already has protein and fat from other foods, helping to slow down sugar absorption.

Combining sapodilla with unsweetened yogurt or nuts such as almonds and walnuts is also a way to help balance nutrition and reduce blood sugar spikes.

Another note is that naturally ripe sapodilla should be prioritized instead of chemically ripened fruit. Plant-ripened sapodilla usually has a mild sweet taste, more fiber and is safe for health. At the same time, sapodilla should not be processed into smoothies with added sugar or condensed milk because this increases the amount of calories and sugar much higher than eating directly.

Sapodilla is not a taboo fruit for high blood sugar. The problem lies in the way it is used. When eaten with a reasonable diet and combined with a balanced diet, sapodilla can still bring many health benefits without excessively increasing blood sugar.
