From a normal healthy girl, Pham Thien Trang (born in 1992 in Quang Ninh) suddenly had to wear a prosthetic leg after an accident. Losing her job after the incident, all her dreams were unfinished at the age of 25, but Thien Trang refused to surrender to fate.
Born as a normal child like many of her peers, at the age of 25, Pham Thien Trang had a stable job and cherished the plan of going to university to improve her qualifications and further her dream.
However, the incident that happened in 2017 completely changed her life. The accident forced Pham Thien Trang to have her entire right leg amputated to save her life. Suffering both physical and mental pain, the young girl collapsed many times and lost faith in life.
After two surgeries to amputate her right leg, four hospitalizations, and one rehabilitation treatment at Quang Ninh General Hospital, it took Pham Thien Trang more than six months to end that painful process.
But that amount of time is still nothing compared to the loss the young girl had to endure. There were times when Pham Thien Trang wanted to end her life.
Seeing her mother struggling every day to take care of her, Pham Thien Trang was determined not to let herself become a burden. From feeling self-conscious and sad, the 9X girl learned to accept her life without a body part, and considered it a challenge to become stronger.
Feeling sorry for her mother's hard work and not wanting to become a burden to her family, Pham Thien Trang learned a trade and then earned money to support herself.
Up to now, the girl has a stable job at the Mechanical - Installation - Construction workshop of the Environment Company - TKV, has a monthly income, and can take care of her own life.
Not only taking care of herself and finding a job to support herself, Pham Thien Trang is also a disabled girl full of compassion and responsibility to the community. From the incidents that happened, Pham Thien Trang has gained more faith in life. She is the President of the Quang Ninh Province Youth Volunteer Club, a member of the Red Blood Drops Club of the Mining Land.
In addition, Pham Thien Trang also built a volunteer group, often organizing donation programs, supporting poor patients with medical treatment and supporting funerals for families without conditions. In 2023, Pham Thien Trang was the only disabled person to receive the National Volunteer Award.
Not only is she an example of perseverance, daring to put aside her own painful losses to rise up to help those less fortunate than herself, Pham Thien Trang is also proving that: "Not only healthy leaves can cover torn leaves" but also leaves, broken lives can rise up to help those less fortunate. The power of love does not lie in the integrity of the body, but in the heart that knows how to share and sympathize".
