Sauteed cabbage with fried dough sticks (Dakgalbi) is a delicious Korean dish that is very popular among young people in Vietnam. The appeal of this dish comes not only from its attractive color but also from the rich flavor of cheese, the soft and spicy chicken on a hot hot hot hot gang pan.
The preparation of this dish is quite simple but not too elaborate to be able to treat the family to a quick meal during the week.
To make stir-fried chicken with cheese cabbage, housewives need to prepare 600gr of chicken (the chicken thighs should be stewed to keep the bones soft and not dry); 1/2 cabbage; 1 sweet potato; 1 onion and a few green onions.
For the marinade sauce, you will need 4 tablespoons Korean chili sauce (gochujang); 2 tablespoons Korean chili powder (gochugaru); 2 tablespoons shiitake oil (soda water); 1 tablespoon sesame oil; 1 tablespoon corn silk or sugar; minced garlic and ginger, ground pepper.
In addition, side dishes that can be optional include 200gr of rice cake (tteokbokki), 150gr of grated mozzarella cheese, spaghetti noodles and white rice.
First of all, the chicken needs to be processed clean, drained and cut into bite-sized pieces. In a large bowl, mix all the ingredients of the marinade and add the chicken thoroughly to so that the sauce absorbs the pieces of meat. Wrap the food in a bowl and marinate the chicken in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to let the chicken absorb the spices.
Wash the cabbage, cut into squares to taste. Peeled, washed, sliced sweet potatoes about 0.5cm thick. Peel the onion, slice the areca nut. Wash the green onions, cut into pieces. Use a large, deep-fried iron pan. Add less cooking oil to the pan, when the oil is hot, layer the sweet potatoes at the bottom of the pan first because the potatoes are riper.
