How to preserve coconut

"You also need to note that coconut must be stored in a dry place to prevent mold growth," Ms. Haripriya emphasized.
Also according to nutritionist Haripriya. N, coconuts can be stored for 5-6 days from the moment they are picked from the tree, depending on the type and storage conditions.
“This is when coconut is at its freshest and most deliciously fatty. However, if you want to preserve it longer, you can put it in the refrigerator or freeze it ," the expert suggested.
The most suitable temperature for storage will be from 1 to 4 degrees Celsius (for peeled coconuts) and 8 degrees Celsius (for shelled coconuts). According to Ms. Haripriya. N, apply this rule to help prevent coconut water from freezing.
Preserving coconut water
Mrs. Haripriya. N offers some methods to preserve coconut water as follows:
Refrigeration: Fresh coconut water should be consumed within 24-48 hours. For longer storage, refrigerate immediately in an airtight container; this can last up to a week.
Freeze: For even longer storage, freeze coconut water in ice cube trays or freezer-safe containers. Coconut water can be stored for several months in the freezer without affecting the quality.
Mrs. Haripriya. N notes that both refrigeration and freezing slow the growth of bacteria and enzyme activity that cause spoilage in coconuts. In addition, she also said that during storage, you must always use a clean, sealed container to avoid contamination of the coconut. Also clearly write the date and month on the container to monitor freshness.
