Some groups of people need to note that eating too much star fruit will affect their health.

Star fruit contains lots of vitamin C, minerals and fiber to help supplement nutrition and strengthen the immune system.

However, some groups of people with the health problems below should consider eating this fruit regularly if they do not want to experience negative health effects.

Kidney related diseases

People with a history of or currently suffering from kidney-related diseases, especially kidney failure, should limit their consumption of star fruit. The reason is that star fruit contains caramboxin - a substance that can be harmful to people with poor kidney function.

The kidneys normally remove caramboxin from the body, but when kidney function is impaired, it can cause symptoms such as nausea or even seizures.

Gastric ulcer

Star fruit contains high acid content, which can easily irritate people with stomach ulcers. Eating too much star fruit can increase stomach acidity, causing heartburn and increasing ulcer symptoms. People with sensitive digestive systems should avoid eating too much star fruit, especially on an empty stomach.

Low blood pressure

Star fruit has the ability to reduce blood pressure and bring some good effects to people with high blood pressure. On the contrary, for people with low blood pressure, eating a lot of star fruit can cause certain dangers such as dizziness, nausea or even fainting.

Therefore, people with low blood pressure should only eat star fruit in moderation or consult a doctor before eating a lot of this fruit.

Allergic to star fruit

There are some cases of people being allergic to eating star fruit with symptoms such as itching, rash, swollen lips, and can cause difficulty breathing.

People experiencing the above symptoms are advised to limit or stop eating this fruit to protect their health.
