At around 8:00 a.m. on May 11, in Trung Nam commune (Vinh Linh district, Quang Tri province), a heavy rain accompanied by strong winds occurred, causing a pre-built wedding tent to collapse completely.
The wedding tent collapsed to serve 40 banquets for the wedding ceremony at noon on the same day.
Ms. To Thi Tam - the sister of the bride Hoai Thu - said that the wedding tent had been built the day before. At the time of the incident, some restaurant staff members were inside the theater and were temporarily stranded, but fortunately no one was injured.
The incident happened close to the time to welcome guests, it was raining heavily so it could not be fixed. However, the family still decided to hold a wedding ceremony.
Neighbors and relatives did not hesitate to rain, helping to move tables, chairs, and food to the yard of a neighbor's uncle to continue the party.
"Everyone encourages me that happy days are the main thing, if the theater collapses, I rebuild it with affection" - Ms. Tam shared.
At noon of the same day, the wedding ceremony still took place as planned. Despite knowing about the theater collapse, nearly 400 guests still came to celebrate with the bride and groom. The couple Hoai Thu - Minh Tien appeared with a bright smile, receiving the blessings of relatives and friends in a warm and harmonious atmosphere.
Mr. Nhu Hieu - a wedding photographer - shared that this was the first time he had witnessed such an incident. No gorgeous wedding tent, no complete ceremony as planned, but the wedding still took place in fullness and emotion. Everyone sympathizes and considers this an unforgettable memory.
