Wife powerless, wants to divorce because husband often scolds and beats children

Husband and wife have conflicts because her husband tends to favor young children, often beating and scolding her first child who is 5 and a half years old, making the mother worried and heartbroken.

The story of Ms. Thao Linh (character name has been changed) has been shared on social networks recently, attracting attention and many debates about how to educate children with beatings in the family.

According to Ms. Linh, the conflicts between the two spouses began to become more tense since the family had a second baby. While her husband gave a lot of gentleness and love to the younger child, she felt that he became increasingly hot-tempered and strict with his older son.

There are very small things, in my opinion, just the normal hyperactivity of a 5-year-old child, but my husband is also irritable, scolds. Sometimes he beats the child, making it unacceptable for me. I don't know how many times my husband and I have argued just because of this," Ms. Linh shared.

The mother said that she had repeatedly tried to explain to her husband that young children need guidance and guidance when they make mistakes instead of using corporal punishment. However, the repeated arguments made her increasingly tired and fall into a state of deadlock.

An event that made Ms. Linh particularly haunted happened when the family went to relatives' house to play. When it was time to go to bed, a sister in the house just picked up a stick to threaten the children. No one beat or hurt her son, but the boy suddenly burst into tears, ran into the toilet and burst into tears.

Some people think the child is too sensitive, but Ms. Linh has a different opinion. She believes that her child's fear may stem from previous times of being beaten and scolded by her father.

I think there are fears that are not natural. A child is afraid when they see a stick being raised, perhaps in their child's memory, it is no longer just a threat," she said.

Recently, another incident made the mother really unable to bear it. According to Ms. Linh, when the baby was sleeping, the eldest son only ran into the room to look at him because he loved and was curious about the baby very much. However, this action made the father angry and hit the child, leaving a red mark on his body.

When she saw traces on her son's body, Ms. Linh said she almost went crazy. She called both her paternal and maternal grandparents, crying and blaming because she did not understand why a child of only 5 and a half years old had to receive such beatings.

What makes her even more heartbroken is that she realizes that her son is increasingly resisting his father after being beaten and scolded. Meanwhile, with his mother, the boy is completely different. He often clings to, listens to, and seeks his mother whenever he needs love or comfort.

Once when she had a high fever, the person who took water, took blankets and stroked her mother's forehead was her eldest son. Looking at her son's tiny hands taking care of her, the mother could not help but be moved and wonder why such a young child would often have to hear scolding.

According to Ms. Linh, at home, not only her husband but sometimes the maid also often scolds her eldest son. Sometimes she has to say directly that there are two people in the house who scold one child all day. However, when she speaks out to protect her child, she is considered biased.

What made Ms. Linh most deadlocked was the disagreements about how to raise children, which increasingly made the marriage become tense. She admitted that there were times when she thought about divorce, not because she no longer had feelings for her husband, but because she was afraid that her son would grow up with childhood memories full of scolding and fear.

I want my child to have a full family with both parents, but I also don't know whether I should continue to endure to keep the family or have to choose another way to protect my child," she shared.

Before her husband often beat and scolded her child, she had many conflicts and was determined to protect her child, because she was worried that her child would grow up with psychological trauma from childhood memories full of fear.

But she does not know how to solve this problem and hopes to be further advised by readers to help her.
