On October 26, Au Lau Ward Trade Union held the 1st Ward Trade Union Congress, term 2025-2030.
Au Lau Ward Trade Union has 2,021 union members operating at 31 grassroots unions. In the 2023-2025 period, the Trade Union has organized many activities to care for union members such as: Workers' Month, "Union Meal", Trade Union Tet Market.
Through activities, 1,668 union members were cared for with a total amount of 682 million VND; supported the construction of 4 Trade Union Shelters; presented 1,881 gifts worth over 560 million VND; 16 female union members borrowed capital to develop their family economy; mobilized support for 1,364 union member households affected by natural disasters with an amount of nearly 1.4 billion VND.
The grassroots trade unions have coordinated with enterprises to develop a process to ensure occupational safety and hygiene and improve working conditions. There are 9 units signing collective labor agreements, 5 agreements have the content of increasing the value of shift meals, supporting travel expenses. The average income of workers is about 7.2 million VND/month.
At the congress, delegates discussed many key contents, such as: building a strong trade union organization; protecting workers' rights; introducing outstanding union members to join the Party.
For the 2025-2030 term, the Ward Union has agreed on 11 targets, of which: 70% of workers participate in training to improve their qualifications; 65% are disseminated in information technology and digital technology; 50% achieve the title of "Studying Citizen"; 100% of union members in difficulty are cared for when requested; 75% of union members participate in supporting the Fund "Supporting union members and workers".
The Congress set out 9 tasks, solutions and 3 breakthroughs: building a team of intellectual, brave, flexible, creative union officials, applying digital transformation; promoting dialogue and collective bargaining on jobs, wages, and labor safety; increasing the gathering of workers to join the Union, contributing to building a strong Au Lau Ward Union.
The Congress announced the decision to appoint the Executive Committee, Standing Committee, Inspection Committee, leadership positions for the 2025-2030 term and the delegation to attend the 1st Lao Cai Provincial Trade Union Congress.
Mr. Tao Duc Hai was appointed to hold the position of Chairman of the Au Lau Ward Trade Union for the new term.
