Speaking at the Congress, Mr. Tran Quoc Toan, Chairman of the Yen Bai Ward Trade Union, said: Although it has not been put into operation under the new model for long, the preparation for the Yen Bai Ward Trade Union Congress was prepared very early, and received great attention from the Standing Committee of the Ward Party Committee and the Standing Committee of the Labor Federation.
Although newly established, the Yen Bai Ward Labor Union has done a good job of taking care of union members' lives through the programs: "Tet Sum Vay", "Worker's Month", "Union Meal"...
The ward union has supported and visited 572 union members with a total cost of 567.4 million VND.
In the recent period, the ward union has built 5 "Union Shelters"; presented gifts and supported train and bus tickets to 597 union members worth 666.5 million VND; grassroots unions gave Tet gifts to more than 4,100 union members and workers with a total cost of over 1 billion VND.
Along with that, focus on propaganda, education, promoting grassroots democracy, promoting the patriotic emulation movement, developing union members and establishing grassroots unions; negotiating and signing collective labor agreements with many provisions beneficial to workers.
Mr. Nguyen Chuong Phat - Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial Labor Federation highly appreciated the efforts of the Executive Committee and the Standing Committee of Yen Bai Ward Labor Union.
The Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial Labor Federation emphasized: "The way of doing things, the approach and the action of the ward union right after the merger are very quick, timely, effective, and uninterrupted in the activities of grassroots unions".
According to Mr. Nguyen Chuong Phat, with more than 1,000 opinions on the draft political report, this is a very important start for a Congress of the National Assembly. In addition, the Congress has clearly agreed on the motto from the beginning with the criteria "Solidarity - Democracy - Discipline - Innovation - Development".
When participating in the Congress, union members and officials are responsible in their opinions, frankly acknowledging the shortcomings, shortcomings, and inappropriate goals and targets.
From there, focus on discussing and agreeing to approve the Resolution, term 2025 - 2030 with 15 basic targets and 3 breakthroughs on: developing union members and establishing grassroots unions.
Focus on performing well the function of representing, caring for and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and workers; innovate the methods of operation of executive committees and grassroots unions, promote digital transformation.
The Congress announced the decision to appoint the Executive Committee of the Yen Bai Ward Trade Union for the first term and the Delegation to attend the 1st Lao Cai Provincial Trade Union Congress, term 2025-2030.
