Taking care of union members practically

In the first quarter, the living situation, ideology, employment, and wages of union members and workers have been basically stable. The Provincial Federation of Labor has directed trade unions at all levels to focus on taking good care of Tet for workers, successfully organizing activities such as "Tet Sum Vay - Xuan Ung Deng", supporting nearly 8,000 union members in difficulty with a total cost of over 4.3 billion VND; building and repairing 35 "Union Shelters", providing practical support both materially and spiritually.
Propaganda work has also been implemented synchronously with communication activities during Tet, promoting the spirit of innovation of the trade union apparatus, along with many meaningful competitions such as "The beauty of Ao Dai in female cadres, union members, and workers in Quang Binh province in 2025". The contest has created a positive social effect, spreading the beauty of female workers and civil servants and the spirit of loving the profession.
One of the notable bright spots in the first quarter was the development of trade union organizations. The Provincial Federation of Labor has newly established 5 grassroots unions, admitting 71 union members, in the context of many businesses still facing difficulties. This is a testament to the efforts to innovate methods of mobilization and propaganda to raise awareness of workers' rights when participating in trade unions.
Responding to the province's policy of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses, the Provincial Federation of Labor launched the movement "Each grassroots union - at least one joint activity to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses", supporting nearly 200 houses in just over a quarter, with a total value of nearly 600 million VND and nearly 1,000 working days. Many grassroots trade unions have also directly gone to the area, handing out meaningful support to poor workers.
Accelerating the streamlining of the apparatus
At the same time, the rearrangement of organizational structure is drastically implemented in the spirit of Resolution 18-NQ/TW. The provincial Labor Federation has decreased from 4 to 3 specialized committees; Dissolve 6 trade unions, establish a new Trade Union of the Party and the Government Bloc. This is an important step, showing high political determination in implementing the streamlined policy, improving the system effect.
Also at the conference, many key solutions for the second quarter of 2025 were proposed. This includes promoting the "Workers' Month" program, strongly implementing activities to care for people's lives and labor safety, organizing exchanges, honoring outstanding individuals, developing new grassroots unions and organizing the first labor union sports festival. In particular, the training plan for applying artificial intelligence (AI) in trade union activities is emphasized as a pioneering step, leading the digital transformation trend.
Concluding the conference, Ms. Dinh Thi Ngoc Lan affirmed: Building a strong trade union organization is not only an organizational task, but also a political mission. Trade unions must truly be a support for workers, especially during the period of integration, transformation and restructuring the administrative system".
She emphasized that the second quarter will be a pivotal moment for many major changes, requiring the entire trade union system to act more decisively, creatively and be closer to workers than ever.
