Aiming for a complete general hospital
At the inauguration ceremony of the new construction project of Hoc Mon Regional General Hospital (Hoc Mon district) on April 19, Dr. Dang Quoc Quan - Director of Hoc Mon Regional General Hospital said that after 4 years of construction, the hospital has been completed. This is a key milestone of the Ho Chi Minh City health sector, meeting the expectations of people in the Hoc Mon area.
With the direction of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee and the orientation of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health, Hoc Mon Regional General Hospital will develop towards becoming a complete general hospital - the main hospital at the Northwest gateway of Ho Chi Minh City.

According to Associate Professor, Dr. Tang Chi Thuong - Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health, in recent times, not only people but also health workers have been excited when many new hospitals have been built, met international standards and come into effective operation. Today, Hoc Mon Regional General Hospital was officially inaugurated with a spacious and modern facility.
In the coming time, the Department of Health recommends that Hoc Mon Regional General Hospital focus on supplementing and training quality human resources in terms of expertise and hospital management.
The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health continues to closely coordinate with the Project Management Board for Investment and Construction of Civil and Industrial Works to quickly add modern equipment to Hoc Mon Regional General Hospital. It is expected that by the end of the year, the hospital will receive very modern equipment.
Improving the quality of medical examination and treatment commensurate with modern infrastructure
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Thuy - Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee said that investment in the health sector is one of the two main pillars that the city has identified, along with education.
The Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee suggested that Hoc Mon Regional General Hospital focus on improving the quality of medical examination and treatment commensurate with modern infrastructure. Develop the hospital into a first aid center for the area, meeting emergency situations such as cardiovascular disease, stroke, etc.
At the same time, expand the scope of service, targeting not only Hoc Mon people but also border provinces such as Tay Ninh, Long An and border areas such as Laos and Cambodia if they meet professional requirements.
In addition, building a sustainable financial autonomy platform. Strict internal management, effective coordination with the assigned end-line hospitals for support.
The newly built Hoc Mon Regional General Hospital has a scale of 12 floors, 2 basements, a total floor area of 72,293m2, with a total investment of 1,894 billion VND. The unit has invested in a central medical gas system, transported samples for the entire hospital and had a helicopter landing ground on the 12th floor to meet future air emergency requirements.
Currently, the unit has 20 clinical departments and 4 paraclinical departments, of which many specialized departments have been formed such as: Internal Medicine, Neurology, kidneys - Blood Leakage, Neurology, Orthopedic Trauma...
The hospital is one of 80 key projects inaugurated and started nationwide towards the 50th anniversary of the merger (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).
