On April 11, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health announced that 7 hospitals in the central area of the city officially signed an in-depth development support for Thu Duc Regional General Hospital in the period from 2025 to 2030, in order to put the new hospital into effective operation.
7 general and specialized hospitals in the Central Medical Complex include Gia Dinh People's Hospital, Binh Dan, Ho Chi Minh City Heart Institute, Eye, Children 2, Oncology and Dentistry Central Hospital.
Thu Duc Regional General Hospital is oriented to develop into a complete, comprehensive, grade 1 general hospital with specialized spearheads in emergency treatment of injuries, endovascular intervention and soon become one of the key hospitals in the Thu Duc Regional Intensive Care Clinic.
According to the development planning of the HCMC health sector, Thu Duc Regional General Hospital and the Campaign Hospital 2, Thu Duc City Hospital, Le Van Thinh Hospital, Le Van Viet Hospital, Eastern Military Medical Hospital, Hoan My Thu Duc General Hospital, American International Hospital and many new general hospitals continue to be invested and developed in the next stage to form Thu Duc specialized medical cluster.
Thereby, contributing to improving the quality of health care for people in the Northeast gateway area of the city and the Southeast provinces such as Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Ba Ria - Vung Tau... At the same time, contributing to reducing the burden on hospitals in the city's central cluster.
On the basis of consolidating and promoting the development of resources and completing the specialties of a general hospital with full specialties, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health said that the hospital needs to consolidate and strongly develop the indispensable basic specialties to develop other specialties such as emergency, resuscitation, internal medicine, pediatrics, imaging diagnosis, testing, pathology, etc.
In addition, promoting the development of endovascular intervention spearheads with modern diagnostic and treatment equipment. Strongly develop the specialty of emergency treatment for injuries (terments, breasts, abdomen, jawline...) and general surgery, thoracic surgery, blood vessels...
At the same time, synchronously developing the remaining specialties to meet the diverse needs in medical examination, treatment and emergency care of a general hospital. Note that priority should be given to developing specialized specialties (eyes, maxillofacial, ENT) and rehabilitation specialties.
The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health believes that with a new spacious facility and invested in advanced equipment that meets international standards, Thu Duc Regional General Hospital will develop worthy of being a Grade 1 regional general hospital, comprehensively developing with specialized spearheads to meet the disease model.
