On July 28, the Thanh Hoa Provincial Federation of Labor solemnly held a seminar to celebrate the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Trade Union (July 28, 1929 - July 28, 2025). The ceremony was attended by Mr. Trinh Tuan Sinh - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Thanh Hoa province.
Also attending were Mr. Vo Manh Son - Chairman of Thanh Hoa Provincial Federation of Labor, Ms. Trinh Thi Hoa - Vice Chairman of the Provincial Federation of Labor, representatives of leaders of affiliated departments and grassroots unions.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Vo Manh Son - Chairman of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Federation of Labor reviewed the 96 years of formation and development of the Vietnam Trade Union and the outstanding marks of the Thanh Hoa Trade Union. From secretly organizing the struggle for workers' rights, the Vietnam Trade Union has grown to become a pioneer force in the cause of revolution and national reunification.
In Thanh Hoa, the workers were formed from the colonial mines of French colonialism. After the Provincial Party Committee was established in 1930, the revolutionary movement developed strongly. In 1960, Thanh Hoa workers were honored to welcome Uncle Ho to visit and speak at the 6th Provincial Trade Union Congress - a historic event that gave more motivation for generations of workers to strive to contribute, overcome all difficulties, build and protect their homeland.
Entering the integration period, the Provincial Trade Union continues to strongly innovate, effectively implement emulation movements, arouse the creativity of workers, and actively contribute to local socio-economic development. In the current period, Thanh Hoa Trade Union is stepping up streamlining the apparatus in the spirit of Resolution 18-NQ/TW, continuing to promote its representative role, protect union members' rights, and build harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Trinh Tuan Sinh - Deputy Secretary of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee acknowledged and highly appreciated the results that the Thanh Hoa Trade Union at all levels have achieved. He affirmed that since its establishment, the Vietnam Trade Union has always been a pioneer force in resistance wars, national construction and representative in caring for the legitimate rights of workers.
Thanh Hoa Trade Union, established in 1946, has promoted revolutionary traditions, taken the lead in patriotic emulation movements, and actively contributed to the development of the province. During the renovation period, trade unions at all levels have constantly improved their methods of operation, cared for the lives, jobs, and welfare of union members; initiated many practical emulation movements, spreading the spirit of creativity, discipline, and solidarity.
In that spirit, the Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee suggested that Thanh Hoa Trade Union continue to promote its role, promote digital transformation, improve the capacity of grassroots cadres, develop organization and protect the rights of workers, contributing to building a beautiful, civilized and modern Thanh Hoa.
At the ceremony, representatives of the Provincial Party Committee and the Thanh Hoa Provincial Federation of Labor awarded the Emulation Flag of the Provincial People's Committee and the "For the cause of building the Trade Union organization" Medal to collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements.
